The Strategies of Guangdong -Hong Kong -Macau Greater Bay Area Higher Education Cooperation:Inspirations from the Bologna Process

  • The Bologna process provides a comparative perspective on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area higher education cooperation strategy. It has similarities with the latter in terms of cooperation basis, construction objectives and functional orientations. This article firstly summarizes the twenty-years experiences of the Bologna process, then clarifies the existing problems of higher education cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and finally examines the inspirations of the Bologna process:cultivating the Bay Area community consciousness; perfecting the exchange and cooperation regulations; building a quality assurance system; and improving the organizational and coordinative mechanisms.
