Practice-oriented Undergraduate Education in American Elite Liberal Arts Colleges

摘要: 为了迎接高等教育市场化和普及化的挑战,美国精英文理学院在坚守自由教育理念的同时,也在主动转型,积极发展工程技术教育,培养优秀的工程师和应用技术人才。精英文理学院在应用技术人才培养过程中,坚持博雅教育与工程教育并重的办学理念,重视基于工程实践与专业认证的能力培养体系建设,注重学生学习体验为中心的多元教学方法,构建跨学科的创业教育生态系统。精英文理学院应用技术人才培养的经验对于我国建设高水平应用型本科高校具有重要的参考价值。Abstract: In order to meet the challenge of marketization and popularization of higher education, elite American liberal arts college, while adhering to the concept of free education, is also taking the initiative to transform, actively developing engineering technology education, and cultivating excellent engineers and applied technical talents. In the process of cultivating technical talents, elite liberal arts college adheres to the school philosophy of liberal arts education and engineering education, attaches importance to the construction of capacity training system based on engineering practice and professional certification, and adopts the student-centered multi-teaching method to construct education ecosystem based on interdisciplinary entrepreneurship. The experience of cultivating applied technical talents in the elite liberal arts college has important implications for the construction of high-level application-oriented university in China.
